A Novel Three-Step Commutation Method for Direct Matrix Converter Free From Inrush Current and Voltage Error

The direct matrix converter is a well-accepted topology for AC/AC converters. commutation method should be considered in the to avoid failures caused by input short circuit and output open during commutations. conventional three-step of voltage not only avoids aforementioned but also removes errors between actual command voltage. However, it increases number hard switching flow inrush current originating from mismatch turn-on turn-off delay time switches. This paper proposes new that eliminates reduces switching. In this way, conversion efficiency improved, hazards are over. Meanwhile, proposed keeps advantage canceling error commutation. Noteworthy introduced based on novel fixed-slope duty ratio PWM simplifying practical implementation. performance effectiveness have been verified simulation experimental results.
